The European Youth Forum is the platform of youth organisations in Europe. We represent 105 youth organisations, which bring together tens of millions of young people from all over Europe. 

The Youth Forum works to empower young people to participate actively in society to improve their own lives by representing and advocating their needs and interests and those of their organisations. In the current uncertain political and social context that affects young people, they can be powerful catalysts for positive change and contributors of innovative solutions to Europes challenges.

The Youth Forum continues our advocacy work to become an agenda-setter on youth affairs, empower member organisations to maximise the impact of their expertise and enforce a rights based approach in all that we do.


The European Youth Forum is recruiting an Administrative & Finance Assistant for  Yo!Fest 2020 as part of the European Youth Event taking place on 29-30 May 2020 in Strasbourg, France.

Yo!Fest @ the EYE is a two-day political festival designed for young people, by young people. It is the largest event of its kind, last year bringing together over 10,000 young people.

Building on the success of over 10 editions, we are looking for an Administrative & Finance Assistant who can continue to grow Yo!Fest and assist in creating a bigger, more impactful and more sustainable event. 


Ensure compliance with the Youth Forum Internal Financial Guidelines and financial procedures as well as those of the European Parliament; 

Liaise with suppliers and respond to their enquiries;
Negotiate with suppliers
 when required;
Draft and follow-up contracts;
Ensure conformity of the invoices and quotes;
Ensure timely payment;
Encode and file all the financial documents such as reimbursement forms, invoices, credit notes and contracts;
Maintain the established financial monitoring tools and produce reports;
Support the Events Team Leader with financial reporting.


At least six months to one-year of professional experience in an administrative and financial role.
Good knowledge of Winbooks is an asset (or experience with other accounting software and willingness to learn Winbooks is required).
Be accurate, efficient and organised with the ability to prioritise tasks as needed.
Ability to maintain strong relationships with external clients and colleagues.
Outstanding attention to detail with an ability to reconcile accounts.
Diplomatic when liaising with others.
Fluent in French and working knowledge of English is required.
Dynamic, persistent and service oriented.
Computer literacy: good working knowledge of G-suite and Mac operating system or willingness to learn.


Sociable, service oriented and at ease in a multicultural environment. 
Proactive, critical, flexible and solution oriented.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team on a common project.
Ability to work under pressure, manage a challenging workload and tight deadlines.
Ability to multi-task and coordinate several projects simultaneously.
Excellent time-management and organisation skills.
Excellent written - verbal and good digital communication skills.
A good understanding of the international non-profit associations environment would be a plus but not essential.
Willingness to be relocated in Strasbourg for a few weeks before and after Yo!Fest (mid May to beginning of June 2020).

The European Youth Forum offers a full time (35 hours per week) contract. The contract will start in November 2019 and end in July 2020. All contractual conditions will be subject to the European Parliament grant terms.

The gross monthly salary is 2,193 Euros. Travel expenses within the Brussels region are covered by the European Youth Forum.
