YOUR VOICE IS NEEDED! OPEN CALL FOR ASPIRING COMMUNITY REPORTERS
Are you aged 15 to 25, a high school or college student based in Belgium, with a curiosity for journalism, media reporting, and a passion for tackling local community challenges?
Media Diversity Institute Global, as part of the international project YoCoJoIn, is publishing a call for participation in the training for young reporters who will cover their local communities in local and youth media in their respective cities.
The training will start with a two-day workshop in Brussels, with three months of online and in-person meetings, each focusing on specific topics. You will have the opportunity to work with a mentor, who will guide you in learning more about community journalism and creating media content. A second phase will offer advanced training and mentorship for several of the most dedicated participants.
Following the Media Diversity Institute Global standards, media content produced in the second phase will be rewarded with an honorarium and published on the MDI platforms and potentially other platforms, such as youth and/or local media.
This process provides a unique opportunity to learn more about community journalism, create media content, and receive mentorship support – an exciting proposition for aspiring young reporters! 😊
